Personal-use Windows companion
Calendar Availability Sync
Keep work and personal availability aligned without copying the details of your appointments.
This application runs in its owner's logged-in Windows session. It reads availability from a configured primary Exchange calendar in classic Outlook and selected Google calendars, then creates private busy-time blocks in the opposite calendar.
Personal time protects work time
Busy time on selected Google calendars becomes Private + Busy Outlook appointments named Personal commitment.
Work time protects personal time
Work commitments become private Google Calendar events named Work, marked as busy.
Availability only, not event duplication
Dates, times and availability are used for synchronization. Original event titles, descriptions, locations, participants, attachments and meeting links are not copied. Reminders are disabled on generated blocks, and no attendees are added.
Original events remain authoritative and are never edited by the application. Overlapping busy times may be combined. Only the application's marked blocks are managed; its own blocks are excluded from source availability to prevent feedback loops.
Account access and controls
The installation owner explicitly authorizes Google Calendar access and selects the calendars. Google permissions allow event read/write access and read-only calendar-list access; the application limits changes to its own blocks in configured destinations. Outlook access uses the already signed-in local desktop application, not copied Outlook credentials or a separate work OAuth registration.
Dry-run is the default. Calendar writes and user-logon startup are separate, explicit choices. The owner can stop the companion or revoke its Google authorization.
Operational limits
Synchronization requires classic Outlook to remain running and connected in the same logged-in Windows session, plus access to Google Calendar. Logging off, provider outages, revoked permissions or sign-in prompts can pause synchronization. This is eventual availability protection, not an atomic scheduling lock or a guarantee against invitations.
Use must comply with the account owners' permissions and any applicable organizational calendar-automation and data-transfer policies.
